Maternity Images, Birth, and 6 Weeks Postpartum.

My gorgeous son is now 6 weeks old. I'm so in love with my new munchkin. He is so strong and is already trying to get around. We are constantly asking him "Where are you going?".  I guess lots of protein during pregnancy makes for a really strong baby. lol My other three children are so intrigued  with him and do their best to help.  It seems like every five seconds I'm saying "Give him some space.", they just can't get close enough. =)

It almost didn't happen, but  my husband and I were able to squeeze in a maternity shoot at the last minute. I was hot and miserable right before the shoot and that equates to me being swollen from head to toe, which made me even more miserable because I was concerned about how the photos would come out (I was afraid of looking like a pregnant walrus).

Once we arrived at the park I was able to quickly adjust my feelings. I did something I never thought I would do in public. I bared my pregnant belly.

A few days later at 9.4 lbs, Xavier Elijah was born.

Here is my 6 week postpartum comparison.  I had planned to still do a light workout each day, but mostly found myself sleeping like a baby and doing my motherly duties in between naps. So these results are based 100% on nutrition. I now have the OK to workout hard and have made a schedule to do so. Let's see what happens.....

My Husband's Vasectomy Experience.

Finally! What I thought would never happen has taken place! My husband had promised to get a vasectomy after our 2nd child was born. However, for various reasons it just did not happen. Plus I'm sure he was more than a little hesitant to do so. Who can blame him? It turned out to be a blessing. Along came our beautiful little girl Diva Janiyah and  Xavier Elijah (our son from my current pregnancy).

I am so ready to deliver! This pregnancy has exhausted me more than any other and I think since I am thinner this time around the load seems extra heavy. Right now the only face I want to make is this.....

....Ok, well maybe not! I hope to be fortunate enough to have another easy delivery. But I think you get my point.

Well, I don't have to worry about getting pregnant again. With all the birth control scares, I think I'll pass. His Vasectomy seemed like the most practical way to go for us.

He actually filmed his experience at the doctor's office!  Watch below, comment, like, share, and subscribe! New Vids Will Be Out Every Tuesday!

The Reality of my Daughter's Beauty

When I was my daughter's age, I hated my hair. I hated that it wasn't straight. That it took me forever to get ready in the morning and even if I was with someone who knew how to comb my hair, it felt like a torture session. I wanted "white girl hair" (a term I used when I was eight). I was even jealous of my full black sister's short relaxed hair. Although she probably wished she had  my hair, I would've traded places with her in a second.

My oldest daughter's curls are long, but tighter than mine. Over the years I worried about how she would accept her own beautiful hair. One day her hair will be down to her behind and the next it will stop at the nape of her neck.

This morning my daughter woke up with a HUGE afro.  Her hair reminded me of Solange Knowles. Although I straighten it once a year for a couple of weeks (no real reason, just don't feel like spending more than two hours a year to do it, lol). I made it a point for her to love her natural hair. The reality of her beauty. She looked in the mirror and moved the section that was hanging over her eyes out her way. She said "Mommy, I love my hair like this. Can we keep it this way?"

For me to hear her say that made me tear up. I did my job. One girl down, one more to go.

90 Days to Make It

When I first met my husband I felt that he was a very self-centered jerk. Apparently he had similar feelings about me. Unfortunately these feelings had occurred well before our first "Hello.". I worked at the mall in a Jewelry store that caters mostly to military personal. At the risk of coming across conceited, I did receive  A LOT of attention from the male soldiers. So he made the assumption that I was vain and chose not to speak to me in a welcoming manner. That attention did work to my benefit. I mean I am naturally shy, and it takes a lot for me to approach people I don't know. That is not a good trait if you're in sales and 90% of your costumers are lured into the store with witty conversation. Often I didn't have to say more then "Hello" or "Where are you from" to get the male soldiers into my store. Once the ice was broken I would close majority  of my sales. A girl had bills!!

After constantly seeing one anther at various places, what was once annoying became sweet serendipity. Evil glares turned into a few forced acknowledgements of each others presence such as a head nod or a "Hello". Those soon became a conversation of laughs and giggles and then our first date. I knew he was mine from that point on.

I picked up pretty quickly that he is a natural entertainer, and from the jump suggested that he pursue a career in comedy and/or acting. Trust me when I say it wasn't out of love because he was mine, I might be a little too quick to let him know what I think is good or not (I'm not always right according to his audience, lol) but out of pure belief and faith in him. He had a few successful small showcases with stand up comedy and had done several student and independent films. In January I was 7 months into my pregnancy with our fourth child. It seems whenever I become pregnant he feels the pressure to become successful more than usual. He made a promise to me that he would make it in Hollywood in 90 days. He even got a small part on Southland's season 5 episode 1 as an EMT. However, he was highly disappointed when his scene was cut and came across as just an "extra" in the background. That would have been an awesome reel! But hey, that's Hollywood. Fortunately he didn't take it personal, he knows that even the greatest scenes can be cut because it just doesn't go with the flow of the film.

My husband, LaVelle LaRue, decided to connect with a group of highly skilled people to create a reality show of himself, featuring our family, trying his best to make it in Hollywood in 90 days. You will all have the opportunity to view his struggles, our family struggles, and of course our highlights. In the process, those who desire to make it in Hollywood will learn the "Dos and Don'ts" of the industry through LaVelle LaRue's trial and errors.

Originally the show was intended for a major network. However, after a few meetings it was said that we "are too positive for a black mainstream reality TV family.".  That unless we can "raise hell" or be deemed in some kind of negative light, no one would be interested. Well, one thing we have definitely learned as a family is that no one will determine our future but us. So what is our next move? To keep on moving forward of course! Producing your very own show can be quite expensive with the cost of the crew and marketing. So we are asking those of you who are would like to see the up and downs of making it in the industry to donate here. You can donate as little as $1. Every bit counts! Rewards are given from good Karma to an interview with the cast and more!

To understand more, please view the video below. It's up to you if the show goes on or not. =)

I Just Made Her Birthday Cake

I'm often viewed as being so strong in the eyes of others that I find it hard to show my vulnerable side. Mostly because it makes me feel weak and I almost feel as if I am not allowed to cry, to show weakness, that there is just no excuse for me to do so whatsoever. It doesn't happen much, as I find myself to naturally be a very happy person. My cousin even jokes with me about naturally having the "F**k it!" attitude of someone who smokes marijuana. But I am still human, crying for me is a way to let it all go....and then pick up the pieces. My mother, who suffers off and on from extreme depression, once told me that it's OK for me to be depressed for 5 minutes, but for 5 minutes only or she would kick my a#$! She has a very unique way of expressing her love, you would have to be one of her children to understand her and her ways. But I found it to be true for me. It really worked for a long time!

I'm sure by now you're wondering "What the hell does this have to do with a birthday cake?". Well, just five minutes ago I was a blubbering mess (still so as I type) on my couch, eating Snickers ice cream straight out the carton. I usually become very emotional right before the birthday of one my children. My 8 year old daughter will be 9 soon. Truthfully, not until June. Normally the roller coaster of emotions does not begin until a few weeks beforehand, so maybe all of those crazy mixed up pregnancy hormones have finally arrived for a long vacation during my last trimester. But nonetheless, I can't help but think of how fast the time has passed. I swear I just gave birth to my little Queen (My 8yr old's nickname). I became even more upset when I realized all of the memories I wanted to create with her when she was younger, just did not take place. I was suffering from postpartum depression with my son (something I wasn't aware of at the time), I suffered from it with my oldest as well. Not to mention that during the first 6 years of her life I had no relationship with my mother whatsoever for a reason that I will not get into. I could not see past my financial situation at the time and the state of my relationships with several family members. ( I couldn't lie to myself anymore about who they are ). Part of my depression was due to the fact that I had moved to California from Texas and felt completely alienated without any of my former close connections. I noticed my five minute depressions happening more frequently and then suddenly lasting longer. I had completely forgot who I was before I even had a child. After years of watching me "go" my husband got fed up and said "I say this with love, but YOU need to get it together." Hence the name of this blog.

Somewhere in the middle of all these thoughts about my 8 year old, I realized that my 2 year old daughter is  turning 3 this March. That is when the water works really began! I mean, I JUST MADE HER BIRTHDAY CAKE!! She had just turned 2! She sat on my table next to her rushed homemade cake and was lit up with smiles! Thankfully, I had recognized what I had experienced in my past two pregnancies,  so when she was born I immediately took measures to enjoy my children and my life. It was shortly after her birth that I created this blog. I began working out, eating "clean", and whenever I felt an ounce of frustration....I got on the floor and played with my kids. They bring the back the glow on my face.

I am feeling better as I type. I mean, yes my eight year old is turning 9, and I'm sure I'll be a blubbering mess when she grows up and has her first date, leaves home, etc. Although I didn't get the chance to create certain memories for her while she was a toddler, I did create many beautiful memories for her and have plenty of time to create more. This is when she will really remember them anyway. I'm grateful that at eight years old, she really is eight....mentally! Although she has an advance vocabulary for eight, she is not trying to be older than her age. She even told me that she does not want to grow up. She plans to always live close to me. I hope so! FINGERS CROSSED!! LOL.

I have grown through my children. I have learned what kind of person I want to be and have worked on it. More so now than ever! Through my children, I have learned how to manage my emotions after giving birth. I have no worries this time around. I know without a doubt that I will be the best version of me (of this chapter) with the arrival of my son. No financial stress or relationships of any kind will interfere with my babies and the love I have for myself.

I know it may seem that my thoughts in this post are all over the place, but hopefully you all will realize that this post is a true reflection of my hormonal, blubbering self at this particular moment. The below family photos are a reminder that although we do not live a wealthy life (yet), we still have one filled with many riches.

Valentine's Day Post with Sugar Cookie Recipe!

Valentine's day took on a whole new meaning when I became a mother. I still love the gifts I receive from my husband, but by now my husband has learned how much I appreciate the simple things (just makes him want to do more) and that the best way for me to make the best out of the holidays, is to make them the best for my babies.  I try to do little things to make every occasion special for them. Although, I'm sure they won't remember everything, I know I am creating wonderful memories for them. So I decided to make Valentine cookies with my little Valentine's. I had originally planned to make them for their classmates, however my very pregnant body would not allow me to function as I would have liked on the 13th. They really enjoyed creating their very own cookies. For them it was like arts and crafts you can eat!

Of course, I had to get the recipe from my "go-to" cooking blog Divas Can Cook for the best sugar cookie recipe ever! The truth is I can't stand sugar cookies! They always taste bland and just don't do anything for me. I originally made the Diva's recipe to create Halloween witch fingers and was pleasantly surprised. Of course I shouldn't have been, everything I've ever made from her site was "the business"!. The best thing about this recipe is that you will find most of the items already in your pantry! So go check it out and ENJOY!

32 Things I've Learned - Birthday Post

This morning I received a phone call from a very good friend of mine. She started off singing "Happy Birthday" like she always does but then stopped in the middle of the song and said "Ah hell, you're just getting old!". LOL. We spoke for awhile about different topics here and there. I couldn't believe how fast the last ten years have past. Even more so, I can't believe I'm 32! Ten years ago seems like yesterday! Ten years ago I was making really good money. More than most 40 year olds today. I loved my job, met the love of my life, got married, and had my first child. As today moved forward, I couldn't help but feel grateful for so many different things in my life. Mint Chocolate is Back!

Mint Chocolate is Back! Ok, so you have no idea what I'm talking about right? Since March of this year, I have put all of my focus on my Herbalife Business. That is right, I am an official coach with Herbalife. I reached my Supervisor status this past May. But enough about that! I just wanted to share with you the news about the return of our Mint Chocolate shake. Personally I can't stand the two flavors together, but I am just one out of a Million. However, I am determined to try every flavor we offer.

The Herbalife shakes have been a big staple in my meal plan. I got really sick and tired of cooking too often to meet my requirement of eating every 2-3 hours. These shakes replace two of my meals, and make keeping my commitment to weight loss a whole lot easier. For now, they are providing me and my unborn child with 100% of our daily required nutrition. My OBGYN even took me off of my prenatal vitamins!

Oder this shake ASAP!! IT WON'T BE AROUND FOR LONG! I heard last year that many clients were upset they didn't order two! 818-850-1449.

Fully Loaded Healthy Nachos - PRE-WORKOUT!

I'm not sure if it's my love for Mexican food or all things cheesy, but I have been craving nachos for quite some time. Ok, so really I've been craving some serious carbs, and the best carbs come with cheese! So I began my search for some healthy nachos! They couldn't just be semi-healthy, these nachos had to fully fit into my qualifications of healthy. In other words, these nachos had to be under 300 calories, under 200mg in sodium, low in sugar, and most of all TASTE DELICIOUS!

I have been obsessed with cooking blogs every since my oldest was 2 yrs old.  I find that is where I find the most tried and true recipes. As much as the kitchen and I did not get along, I knew I couldn't raise my child on Taco Bell.....OHHHHH, Taco Bell. I mean, seriously, does it get more All American than fake Mexican food? Oh well, I think we have Taco Bell less than once per year now...but I still need my cheesy carb loaded fix.

Upon my search for cheesy, gooey, deliciousness I came across Can You Stay for Dinner? hosted by Andie Mitchell. Ummm Andie, I would like to make a reservation for today at 6pm please. There are just too many wonderful recipes I can't wait to give a shot.

Andie's version of healthy nachos was the closest  I could find to meet my requirements, however I had to change it up a bit. She used a whole wheat tortilla, I used corn because it is slightly lower in calories. I do believe she used canned black beans; I made mine from scratch because bagged beans have 0 sodium. Canned black beans can range from about 170mg of sodium to about 350mg. Due to the sodium amount in cheese, I needed to use bagged beans. Also, I used a slice of melted down cheese because I just happened to have that available.

These nachos are high in Carbs, so I suggest eating them prior to working out. They are a good source of fuel for your workout.

Ingredients:
2 cups of black beans (You'll only need 1/2 cup for one serving)
6 cups of water (forgot to mention in video)
1 onion (halved)
1/2 onion (diced)
5-7 garlic cloves (minced)
1 tablespoon of Mrs. Dash (forgot to mention in video below)
1 slice of cheese (under 220mgs of sodium, will use only use 1/2 for one serving)
1 whole corn tortilla (for one serving)
Non stick cooking spray (I used buttered flavor)
Diced Avacado
Diced Tomato
Fat free milk (for cheese sauce, use enough to reach your desired consistency)

DIRECTIONS:
1.) Add water, beans, onion halves, garlic, and Mrs. Dash into crock pot on high heat. Cook for about 4
     hours. Discard onions afterwards.
2.) Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees..
3.) Saute diced onions until slightly brown.
4.) Cut tortilla into 8 triangular pieces for tortilla chips (Pizza style).
5.) Place tortilla pieces onto cookie sheet and generously spray both sides with cooking spray. Place into
oven and bake for approximately 5 minutes or until golden.
6.) While tortilla chips are baking, melt cheese in a sauce pan on low heat, add milk until you have reached
     your desired consistency
7.) Place tortilla chips onto a plate, cover with 1/2 cup of black beans, top with sauteed onions, avocado,
tomato, and 1 tablespoon of cheese sauce.
8.) ENJOY!

Baby Tone DVD Giveaway *WINNER SELECTED*

Congratulations to contest winner Sarah! She posted comment number 12 and was selected using random.org. Sarah said "Looks like my LO would love it!". Sarah, I will contact you via email. Please respond within 48 hours to claim your prize.

I've recently had the pleasure of reviewing the "Baby Tone" DVDs for Dustin Maher, creator of the Fit Moms For Life movement. I anticipated the DVD's arrival. I hoped it would be all that I expected and worried it would be too much for me too handle. To clarify, this workout program allows new mothers or those with small children to workout out at home with baby. My baby is almost 19 months old and weights 20lbs. What if I couldn't lift her?

I shouldn't have been too concerned. I have been working out at the gym regularly and lift up to 60 lbs on occasion. But I was still excited to know that I can workout with my baby. Yay Us!

I was so tired by this point! But it was so worth it!

I recall when I first had my daughter. Almost immediately I began working out. She was too young for child care at the gym, so I worked out at home using my own body weight against me. My husband helping me each excruciating step along the way. Not only was I working off the weight from my recent pregnancy, but the weight from my other two as well. As much as it hurt to ignore my child's needs for an hour (allowing her father to tend to her) I kept telling myself that I have to be selfish with this time. Happy mommy, means a happy baby....RIGHT??

If only I knew then, what I know now. My baby girl and I have been bonding! She loves the workouts. Sure, I grunt and pant while she giggles herself to exhaustion. But it is so worth it! My older children take part as well! I love being a great example for them. I lunged, they lunged. I did a push up, they did one (sort of).

To make this a fair review, I stayed away from the gym all week. I was nervous about losing muscle tone. But I really needed to make sure this product was everything I hoped it would be.By day two, my muscles were as sore as they would have been if I had hit the gym. Also, while lifting my Diva (yes, that is her real name), I noticed that my muscles had reached the point of fatigue as they do with weights at the gym. I have not suffered muscle loss at all. Please keep in mind that I am use to lifting, and that my baby is 20lbs. I know in the beginning she would have been great as a weight as well, since back then I could hardly lift 5 lbs with proper form.

I also love that I can switch to dumbbells if Diva gets to heavy for me! Of course, she looks at me like I am insane for putting her down. I thought I would have to go to the gym to do cardio, however, there is also a cardio section that allows 30 sec intervals of intense movement! We can do anything for 30 seconds, right? Come on! You can do it!

Might I add, that I have always hated how the participants in exercise videos NEVER look exhausted!! But the woman in this video DOES get exhausted! I LOVE IT!! I feel like she is feeling what I am! I know it is silly but I always feel as though most video are taunting me saying "Look what I can do, without breaking a sweat! You weakling!"

So seriously....with proper diet and exercise with the DVDs, I actually lost 5 pounds! The same five pounds I have been struggling with. I couldn't have received this at a better time. I knew it was time for me to switch up my program a little and this has definitely helped! I will not replace the gym with the DVDs entirely, but they will certainly come in handy the three days out of the week I find it difficult to go.

Severed Halloween Fingers

It is getting closer to one of my favorite times of the year. HALLOWEEN!!! I look for all kinds of ways to enjoy time with my little ones while they are still very young. It is just my way of creating memories for them.

To get them into the Halloween spirit, I decided to surprise them today with Severed Fingers. This is my very first attempt, so be easy on me y'all. I have admitted time and time again that the kitchen and I are just acquaintances, not quite friends.

I used the sugar cookie dough recipe I found on Monique's blog at Yes, Divas Can Cook!. She also has her very own version of Halloween Severed Witch Finger Cookies.

I attempted to make a video, but I ran into a few operator errors. lol.

Ingredients:
Sugar cookie dough
Almonds
Red decorating gel
Cookie sheet

STEPS:
 (Preheat oven to 350 degrees)
1. Take a teaspoon amount of cookie dough and roll into a snake pattern.
2. Ssqueeze the dough to form knuckles.
3. Place the finger on a cookie sheet.
4. Use the tip of a spoon or a knife to make indentations on the dough to resemble wrinkles.
5. Use an almond as a finger nail.
6. Let cookies bake for about 20 minutes.
7. Remove from oven and let cool.
8. Squeeze a small amount of red decorating gel around almond to resemble blood.

Tip: Dough make be weaker around the knuckle area. I broke a few fingers and decided to add a slivered almond to the bottom/top of the broken halves to resemble broken bones, along with more red gel for blood.
My very first batch. I was a pro by the third batch (shown at the top of this post)

ENJOY!

My Path to Spirituality and the Power of Positive Thinking

Sky and Clouds - sun rays

What is spirituality?

Spirituality is often thought of as a religion, but it is simply a way of life. There are many forms in which people choose to practice spirituality. Although not a religion, spirituality is sometimes affiliated with religion; based on how one may think of it and it's connection to a higher power. For some, spirituality has nothing to do with religion, but is the process of self-discovery by finding out who they are and what they want to be. For others, it is feeling and showing love to all living creatures. Spirituality is practiced in many different forms, and all of them are correct; it is the practice of being happy (under grace and in all perfect ways) without fear of judgement.

Personally, my favorite and most effective form of spirituality (for me) is the practice of positive thinking. In the beginning it was difficult, and sometimes it still is. Ten years ago, I knew that I could receive whatever I wanted if I put my mind to it. I was upset about certain circumstances, but whatever I put my attention on the most worked out for the best, and I had no idea what spirituality was.

Suddenly, my life changed. I married a wonderful man and had three beautiful children. However, my life was at a stand still that was slowly riding a downhill slope. We went from two vehicles to none. Our income decreased dramatically and our bill increased due to our move to California. I also went from having a strong friend base to none at all. My weight increased and so did my husband's. We were both depressed.

The great thing about it, we did not live in our moments of depression together. One of us was always strong enough to carry the other through. So what does this have to do with the power of positive thinking? A lot!

When did positive thinking work for me?

The age of 19 is the first time I can remember the power of positive thinking working for me. I worked in the mall at a job I could not stand. I felt unappreciated, undervalued, and I knew I deserved better. I randomly met a girl who worked at a different location in the mall. She told me about a job opportunity and I filled out an application and insisted on an interview that day. My mother did not like the idea of me working there, but I knew everything was going to be great. Once I was hired I had affirmed to myself (daily) that I was going to become the assistant manager. Within a week, I had received three raises and became a supervisor. Another week later, a position for Assistant Manager became available and I was promoted again. All of this took place before I had even received my first pay check. At this point in my life, I had no idea about what the power of positive thinking was.

By the time I was 21, I was ready for more income. At the time, for me, that meant a different job. I knew of a store around the corner from my current job that was rumored to pay their employees extremely well. Daily, I thought about what it would be like to work there. The Manager there, began passing by the office I worked at almost everyday. I thought about asking him for a job, but I told myself "No! He is going to ASK me!". Suddenly he stopped walking by and would come in and ask for printer paper. I thought this was odd. I mean, what well running business doesn't have printer paper. After sometime passed, he asked me to work for him. At first I actually hesitated because I did feel loyal to my current employer. What was I thinking?! Gratefully the Universe heard me scream inside and offered me a few more opportunities which I finally took advantage of.  I took the job and almost tripled my income! Again, I did not know about this power at that time. By the way, he never ran out printer paper!

I could go on forever about how this power has worked for me. But I will end this segment by telling you of situation of a which I did now about this power.

A marriage and three children later, my family was living in a mold infested two bedroom apt without proper furniture, and without a vehicle. I felt alone, embarrassed, ashamed,  and I lacked self confidence for the first time in my life. I was a poor black girl from the ghetto, who was absent of a "ghetto" mentality (which is just a poor mentality, if you ask me).  I had made myself accustomed to a certain lifestyle and I expected to live it, but I wasn't.

We did not have the income to provide a down payment for a vehicle or the extra money to save for a used one on Craigslist. By this time, I knew of the power, but found it difficult to practice. It was easier to be depressed. I felt that the current facts of my situation did not support what I desired most. I had reflected back to when I was 19, and how everything just "fell into place" for me. I did this often and one day I told myself "I still get what I desire, because I say so!". I called a few car dealerships until I found one I thought I could work with. They ran my credit and told me I would have to pay a huge down payment. I did not give up. I told them "O.K., I will call you back when I have it.". My husband was a personal trainer and business was not booming at all! That same day two clients called him in need of his service. He offered them different prices for certain packages. The packages they choose cost the exact amount we needed for our down payment, total! We purchased our Vehicle, and moved out of our mold infested 2 bedroom apartment, and into a seven bedroom house!

All of those wonderful things happened with just the power of positive thinking. In the last scenario, I did not get a job and I did not borrow money. I asked the creator, I told myself it would happen, I believed it would happen,  I felt it, and acted on it as if I knew it would, and it did! Sometimes, what we ask for happens through those that are close to us.

Ask exactly for what you want.

One day my husband and I mentioned that we would like to sign up for health insurance with Blue Cross. We did not think about it again. A few days later I received a letter stating that our family qualified for Blue Cross insurance under a plan they offered  for low-income families. We are never ones to think of ourselves as "low-income", because we know we can change our circumstance at any moment. I looked at the letter and laughed. I laughed pretty hard, because I could not help but think that the Universe had a great sense of humor. That is not what I wanted, but it reminded me that the power does work, but I needed to state exactly what is I want.

So when you ask for something, ask for it to happen under grace and in all perfect ways. If you are asking for money, you do not want to receive it through the death of a loved one. So ask for the exact amount you would like, and finish by saying "...under grace and in all perfect ways.".

A coincidence or divine power?

A couple of months ago I was speaking with my mother, who lives half way across the country. She told me she saw a commercial that advertise a beautiful Louis Vuitton purse. My mother had gasped and said aloud "I want that purse.". The next day my mother had left the house to run errands, when she returned the exact purse that said she wanted was hanging on her fence. It was in great condition. A neighbor had saw it on the street and hung it on her fence.

My mother does not believe in the power of positive thinking. Nonetheless, I tried to explain to her why she had received the purse. She called me a witch. I just had to laugh. But was this merely a coincidence or the work of a divine power?

Warning:

You are attracting what ever it is you think about the most. If your thoughts are full of great things, you will attract great things. If your thoughts are full of negative ones, you will attract negative things.

Have we unknowingly been taught the power as children?

As a grown woman with children, I am beginning to notice the hidden messages in cartoons. I truly believe that we have ,unknowingly, been taught the power of positive thinking. Maybe is was hidden because the message did not convey the preachings of most Christian religions.

Peter Pan told us that as long as we think happy thoughts we can fly.

Green Lantern's image is based on positive thinking and using will power to overcome fear. "....those who worship evil's might, beware my power, Green Lantern light.". In other words, will power and positive thinking (the light) will overcome fear (evil). Not to mention that whatever Green Lantern imagined in his mind, he created.

In the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was able to go home anytime she wanted. She just had to close her eyes and click her heels three times. She had to follow the yellow brick road (trials and tribulations), keep staying optimistic, and close her eyes and click her heels (meditate), and believe and she would receive what she wanted.

How to obtain a spiritual life?

There are many ways to begin a spiritual path. I am still working on perfecting mine, however here are a few suggestions that have worked for me:

-  I (for the most part) have stopped caring about others think of me. Good or bad, it does not matter. I live my life for me, and me only. Everyone else is just a passenger that I welcome into my life, and allow to enjoy this journey with me.

- For you to become a true believe of this power; in-vision yourself obtaining something that is out of the ordinary in your life. Start with something small like a flower. In-vision yourself holding it, or smelling it. Do not worry about how it will happen. Just imagine that you have it and feel the feeling you would feel, if you did. Suddenly your vision will come to life.

- Hang around people that are either where you want to be or who are already currently there.

- If you must, take baby steps. My husband can think of a huge goal and manifest it. I feel intimidated with a huge goal, so I break it down in steps and manifest each one at a time.

These are just a few suggestions, and they are not the wrong way nor the right way. They are my way, and they work for me. I hope they help you, but if not, you can find your own way. I wish you all well in your path to spirituality. Peace and blessing.
